While there may be a lot of kids who go out and enjoy the snow on a snow day, I enjoy it from the inside while I write, blog, and read. The snow is beautiful untouched and is very elegant looking. As many of the kids and young teenagers go out to play in it, it's my inspiration of the day to blog about. It is cold and white, yes, but the way it looks is just a tiny bit peaceful looking at it and when it sparkles in the sun, I can't help but be entranced by its majesty. And at times, it is hard to look at because it's so white.

Admit it, we've all been a victim to staying up till 1am to finish our favorite book. It's no surprise that I'd end up reading till 1 or 2am on a school night and not get any rest for a midterm exam at the end of the semester for a class (and even an end of year exam, too) or even be talking to my cat, who I'm sure she thinks that I must be crazy for getting so in tune with the book that I'm reading that she gives me weird looks at midnight when I'm reading an intense scene in Harry Potter. Not to worry, though, because Miss Coco Lane (yes, my cat) has gotten used to some of my shenanigans about babbling on about what has happened after I've finished a Harry Potter book, talking about how it should've been Caleb instead of Tris in Allegiant (no worries Divergent Initiates who haven't yet gotten to the 3rd book yet, I'm giving no more spoilers on the subject matter), how Augustus Waters was a sad tragic in The Fault in Our Stars and how it reminded me about a fellow classmate that passed not from cancer, but from an aneurysm and whom I've grown up with since kindergarten (#AlbinoWarrior), etc. And all of that is at midnight or in the wee hours of the morning on a Friday night before I get knocked out from sleepiness and sleep till 1pm the next day. As I write with Coco laying on one of my arms, I am grateful for having her be a part of my life to talk about what happens after my favorite book ends and what might happen in the next book, or even share my emotions with her on a tragic ending of a book. Well, off to reading till the sun comes up!
See ya next time! ~Emma As the world may go on and find new books, more book-to-movie adaptations come alive, new New York Bestsellers, a lot of people may forget about Harry Potter. As a Potter head, I can say that there's nothing like having seven books to read and enjoy and even get attached to a character or two and not worry about that character dying unlike in books like The Maze Runner, The Hunger Games, and Divergent. I've recently started the books after watching the movies and I will say, the movies most definitely followed the books really close. I'm looking forward to getting all the books and read on end! Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is coming in from Amazon on February 5-6th hopefully! I just LOVE how there's a lot of magic and the books are definitely what I would recommend to a new reader who is looking for a new book to read. I'm a proud student of House Gryffindor and my Gryffindor scarf I ordered off of Amazon will be here tomorrow (January 28)!!!
See you soon! ~Emma As a musician, you learn to love and appreciate music on a deeper level of understanding. One of the amazing things about being a musician is that you have the ability to take something and run with it. As a musician, you can create and come up with the most beautiful music known to mankind. Take Purple Heart for example: It is an amazing piece of work and has a lot more meaning to it than people think. (If you don't know what Purple Heart is, then I'll put the YouTube link on here after I finish this blog.) Music is something we need no matter what emotion we're feeling at the time. Classical and instrumental music are what drives a true musician who wants to succeed and take on the music life as a career. Well, this one is the same as the others when it comes to finding it out. It's the first book I've read that's by a guy, too. It was a little hard to get into the book at first but the action started up and I was into it soon after. The storyline is a lot like Hunger Games, but didn't have the Games. It did have the same element that the boys (who later found out they were Group A and Thomas was to be killed by Group B but survived and stayed alive till the end) had to survive the Maze, use their supplies and needed to get out, which translates to surviving a lot like in the Games. Review: The books were amazing after I got into it and I was surprised that there was a Group B that went through the same thing as the boys but they were girls. While I was reading, I hadn't realized that I got attached to Newt and when he died, it was awful! Same when Chuck died. *Crying face* James Dashner had the book tell a lot of detail and I like that but it shoulda had more enthusiastic writing it. Other than that, I loved the books! Until next time, Emma Before I decided to ever read the book, I saw the trailer and decided I wanted to read it. It turned out to be not one of these lovey-dovy stories like Twilight or Romeo and Juliet but one of those books that did have a romance that was real and felt as though it had an element of serilaty. I personally thought that it had its moments of funniness and sadness. Especially near the end when Gua had passed away from his hard fought battle with his cancer. I knew how it felt to be Hazel after Gus had passed because my grandparents on my dads side had passed away in 2014 and even thoug I wasn't close to them, it was hard watching my father go through the rough times. Until next time, Emma I gotta say, I extremely LOVE the way Veronica Roth narrates the story! But, I'm not gonna criticize on how she should write it this way or that, though. Anyways, here's the Divergent book review by me: Of course with any fictional book that's a New York Times Bestseller, I was speculant on whether it would be an enjoyable one. It turned out to be one of the most unique books that I love! The storyline of the book is non like any other: you've got five factions (Erudite, Abnegation, Amity, Dauntless, and Candor) located in a futuristic Chicago enclosed by fences (only the Amity farms are located), and the faction system works a lot like a democracy: no one faction will out rule the other. That is, if one of the factions decides to make a serum to control the other factions and then it would be a mess! Ok, enough with the chit-chat about the storyline. I'll continue with the review. Overall, the books were outstanding! I want more of what happens after Allegiant, but I don't think Veronica has anything planned for a fourth book. In the beginning of Divergent, you get a feeling that something is different about Beatrice Prior (later when she transfers to Dauntless, she changes her name to Tris): she's not like the other kids in a sense that her mind works differently. She's one of my favorite characters because of how she's brave, selfless, and "fearless" (you can't be totally fearless without having something you're scared to lose whether it's a close friend, a partner, family member, etc.). I also love how Veronica opens the book with a scene that's totally different from other books (I know, I've probably already said that a million times!). Veronica is such a creative author where she draws you in through guessing what's gonna come next. In fact, I finished Insurgent at 4am EDT because I wanted to know what happened next. And, compared to the other books I've read (The Maze Runner, The Fault In Our Stars, and Hunger Games), Divergent has the best creative writing, captures the audience in within the first few chapters and will keep you guessing every time you close the book! I know it's short and brief, but I hope you enjoyed reading it! If you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comment section. Until next time... Emma
